Carl Swartz Memorial Endowment
Carl Bruce Swartz, born in Bozeman, Montana and graduated
cum laude from Montana State University with a Bachelor's degree in
Film and TV in 1979.
In 1980, Carl moved to Los Angeles and was employed in the motion picture
industry as a free lance music editor and at Warner Studios.
He did
the music editing on numerous TV series, movies of the week and feature movies.
In 1990, he was nominated for an Emmy for his work on the television series
"Beauty and the Beast"
and was a Music/Sound Editor for the television series "Seaquest" at
the time of his death. He was nominated for the Golden Reel Award of Motion
Picture
Sound Editors for his work on "Seaquest".
His parents Doris R. Swartz and
Dr.
William J. Swartz (Emeritus Faculty Math Science Department) established
this scholarship upon his unexpected death from encephalitis in 1995.
