Our school maintains a high academic standard
for the film and photography programs by offering challenging courses in a positive
and engaging environment. Our students have the opportunity
to collaborate with our faculty to gain valuable experience
in preparation for professions in film, photography,
television, and theatre. Our programs emphasize learning
through experience by spending many hours in production
and state of the art labs. Through the years, we have established a national reputation as a center where
young people successfully prepare for careers in their
chosen area of specialization.

The goal of the School of Film & Photography is to dedicate itself to excellence in instruction
in order to prepare our students for unique career opportunities in film and photography.
The department works to further increase our reputation
by graduating academically qualified students, by encouraging
student and faculty production and development, and
by promoting the success of specific outreach programs
affiliated to the department (i.e. Montana
Shakespeare in the Parks and Hatchfest).
We preserve the highest quality of education
for our students by implementing GPA gates based on performance in
freshman courses thereby allowing only a limited
number of students to continue in both our Photography and MPVT film program.
We invite you explore our web site in order to investigate
the three programs in more detail. For more information
or to arrange a campus visit, please do not hesitate
to contact us at sfp@montana.edu
or call (406) 994-2484.
